It all started when…

We gathered with several of our colleagues from other cultural institutions around the country to chat over a few beers (naturally). Our conversation focused on the stories of the past and the present. We realized that we were all driven by the principles that are a part of the Chicago Brewseum mission statement: Beer is more than just a beverage; it is a dynamic cultural force with the ability to build community and the power to make change.

And that’s when we decided to do something that has never been done before.

The Beer History + Culture Project is a national collaboration dedicated to highlighting, preserving, and celebrating beer history and culture and building national support for the Chicago Brewseum.

Over the next few years, you will see collaborative exhibitions, beers, events, and public programs at museums and other cultural organizations around the country. Old partnerships will be preserved and new partnerships will be forged. And they will all be rooted in our shared story of beer.

By working together to preserve, share and promote beer history and culture, we will demonstrate how our unique communities come together to celebrate our past, present, and future all while making personal connections with every resident and visitor alike. And, together, we will further establish a need for the Chicago Brewseum.
