Join us for a very special edition of Brew Canoe with Team USA trans athlete, Chris Mosier.

Our boat for this group paddle along the North Branch of the Chicago River is a replica First Nations Voyageur Canoe. These types of 36 foot canoes were primarily used between 1680 and 1870 during the fur trade in the Great Lakes region. For this adventure, we begin at Kayak Chicago’s North Avenue launch. From there we paddle north to Metropolitan Brewing where we’ll stop for a beer or two. We then venture back south and conclude at Off Color Mousetrap for more brews.

Our conversation for this unique voyage will focus on LGBTQ+ Chicago history as well as the story of trans athlete, Chris Mosier. Chris will share insight into his personal journey and his fight to advocate for trans people in all levels of sport. As an added bonus, during our paddle we will also enjoy Athletic Brewing’s Rainbow Wall, a very limited non-alcoholic IPA brewed for Pride Month in collaboration with two time World Cup gold medalist climber, Alex Johnson.

This paddle is open to all levels. Total paddle distance is approximately 6 miles. This is an active experience. You WILL be paddling so please be prepared for a decent amount of upper body exercise and the potential of being sore the next day. Non vaccinated guests must wear masks.

$75 ticket price includes:
