Beer History Week is a celebration beginning with the Beer Culture Summit, continuing with daily programming from colleagues around the country, and concluding with Ales Through The Ages, presented by our friends at Colonial Williamsburg.

BEER HISTORY WEEK: DAY 2

Beer and brewing is one of the most celebrated aspects of Milwaukee’s history and the Milwaukee County Historical Society goes to great lengths to see that the city’s beer history is preserved. The Historical Society’s Brew City Collection contains over 40,000 images, advertisements, correspondences, and artifacts – one of which is the Historical Society’s building itself, the former Second Ward Savings Bank, also known as the “Brewers Bank.”

Join MCHS Collections and Digitization Specialist, and Brewseum League of Historians member, John Harry on a virtual behind the scenes tour of the Milwaukee County Historical Society to see some of their beer history treasures and learn how beer made Milwaukee famous.

This free virtual program takes place via Zoom. Times listed are Central Standard Time.
