Join Travis Rupp, the Beer Archaeologist, as he explores the origins and misnomers surrounding the history of our nation’s bestselling craft beer style, the IPA. He will share insight into the true story of the India Pale Ale and examine the unique process and journey of pale ale from England to India in the 18th and 19th centuries. Rupp will discuss his attempt to recreate the process and conditions under which the original IPA was created and demonstrate that what the style once was is a far cry from what it has become in the 21st century.
This virtual beer history happy hour happens at 3pm CST via Zoom and Facebook Live.
Travis Rupp is a Lecturer in Classics, Art History at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He also serves on the National Advisory Board for the Chicago Brewseum.
